Mathematics & Graphic Manipulation with the Backpack Computer
 | The new "Backpack Computer" from Casio, the Cassiopeia A-22T, has far reaching implications for use in the mathematics classroom. It combines the capabilities of the MRI graphing calculator, the MapleTM computer algebra system, The Geometer's SketchpadTM, and ExcelTM. An emphasis will be placed on demonstrating how the different software applications can be used together to investigate graphic manipulation using transformation geometry, coordinate geometry, matrices, and algebraic and geometric definitions of functions. | | This workshop will explore how, by working with these programs in relationship with each other for data analysis, mathematics can be approached using new ways of teaching and learning.
