The library offers workshops to help students, faculty and staff learn how to research, reference and access library resources from their office or home computer. Library workshops are available throughout the semester, both in the Library and at Valley Road. Dates, times, and location are listed below:

Introducing RefWorks: Building and Generating Bibliographies
RefWorks is a web-based, personalized system for managing citations and notes for research projects of any size. This session covers creating an account, adding citation records from online catalogs, databases and other sources, and using RefWorks to produce bibliographies formatted in any major style.
Audience: Students and faculty writing a research paper, literature review, thesis, or scholarly article.

Learn how to incorporate educational video into your classes, using FMGOnDemand (formerly Films Media Group, Inc.). Locating and Using Geographic Data
Geographic or geospatial data can be used to support a wide range of research goals and decision-making tasks in fields like health, environmental studies, education, business, politics, urban studies, and other fields. This introductory workshop will survey some of the most useful and easily accessible data sources for student research, review common data types, and acquaint you with Arc Explorer, a free educational Geographic Information Systems program that can be downloaded and installed from the web.
