Bibliographies and Research Guides

Big Book Collection Bibliography
The Cheng Library's Big Book collection contains more than 100 oversized picture books. Each book has a teaching guide with suggestions for lesson planning. The Big Book collection was originally purchased with a grant from the William Paterson University Alumni Association. Big Books may be borrowed for 28 days.

ECAP Collaborative
The Early Childhood and Parenting Collaborative of the University of Illinois is dedicated to sharing information about early childhood education, child care and parenting. It includes information about the Regio Emilia Approach and The Project Approach, as well as achives of resources from the former ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

A site with an especially useful "Great Idea for Today" section (with archives), with lists and details of games, songs, crafts, and recipes. The ideas presented are unique and easy, and will be new to most children.

A site for parents of, and professionals who work with, youngsters in this first stage of life. The links page has a Professional Topics A-Z section and a Parenting A-Z secion. Topics include information on play therapy, daycare, computers and media, aggression, and feeding, among other topics.

Between the Lions
The Between the Lions site, connected to the television program of the same name, helps to get kids excited about reading by providing stories, games, and things to print on its site. Children who love the lions can read about them by browsing through a variety of interactive activities about the characters and picture book stories.
