Cheng Library Wins Award in Homecoming Door Decorating Contest

The Cheng Library receives the "Overall Best" award in the University's Homecoming/Pioneer Pride Door Decorating Contest.

The front lobby doors of the Cheng Library decorated for Homecoming Weekend.

Six Cheng Library staff members were honored to accept the "Overall Best" award in the University's Homecoming/Pioneer Pride Door Decorating Contest.  The six staff members who contributed their artistic and imaginative talents in decorating the front doors of the Library were Pat Moore, Jill Pruden, Kristen Regula, Sherri Tucker, Pam Vovchuk, and Leah Marie Zamora. Their creativity was also admired by Library users during the week the decorations were displayed.

In designing the door, the staff members envisioned the entrance as a book, with the center or spine of the book between the two sets of double doors.  The title "Homecoming 2015" and the words “Your Pioneer Story Begins Here” could be read on the doors along with photographs, images and WP pennants and logos.  As dedicated library enthusiasts, the decorating team also gave the book a "call number" label on the spine.  The entire display created quite an impressive entrance to the Library.

Congratulations to the decorating team members: Leah, Pat, Pam V., Jill, Kristen and Sherri!
