Account Information
Purpose:
IT Accounts provide students, faculty, staff, and other authorized users access to the University’s information technology resources. This includes access to WPUNJ.edu email, Blackboard, the Library’s catalog and research databases, computer labs, and WPConnect the web portal that provides access to secure personalized information services. Access to the University’s information technology resources is a privilege granted for the purpose of teaching, learning and related University business. It is the responsibility of each IT Account user to read and adhere to the University’s IT Policies.
Account guidelines:
STUDENT: Upon acceptance to the University incoming students receive their IT Account which provides them with University E-Mail and the ability to continue with the admissions and course registration process. Students retain their University IT Account, for e-mail purposes only, for up to one academic year after last enrollment or graduation.
Faculty/Staff: Faculty and staff members are assigned IT Accounts upon appointment to the University. Upon leaving the employment of the University IT Accounts are terminated for all services. Exceptions for extending IT Account privileges for specific functions would include the granting Emeritus Status upon retirement, or in individual cases, such as adjuncts, as authorized by the administration for a specified time period.
Guest: Under certain circumstances, such as a courtesy to community users of the Library and for guest lecturers and scholars, Guest Account Access may be authorized by Information Technology administrators. Guest Accounts are automatically terminated at the end of the assigned time period.
