Faculty using Bb have a great deal of control over the look of their course
sites. One might choose colors or patterns that fit a theme of the class (using
blue and grey in an American Civil War class, for example), or one might change
the coloring of course shells to help distinguish between the various courses
being used any semester. In addition to changing the shape and color of the buttons
faculty can change button names as well; one might rename the Documents button
"Outlines" if that term better describes the substance of the content area.
Faculty can also manage the course over time. Using
the Archive/ Recycle functions a course shell can be saved on a local
drive for later use. This also serves as a good back-up strategy. With
Course Copy one can reproduce all or part of a course between sections
and across semesters. Finally, the Course Cartridge feature alows faculty
to introduce sophisticated content and format from textbook publishers.
