WPUNJ Faculty Guide to Bb
Communication

Blackboard provides four complimentary methods of communicating with students:

announcements offer the professor a means of getting messages to the class; it is one-directional and information-oriented.

collaboration sessions comprise a realtime "chat" tool that allows faculty and students to interact spontaneously. They are especially useful when the goal is informal and conversational.

discussion boards are asynchronous "bulletin boards" used by faculty and students to participate in substantive academic exchanges.

send email allows class members to exchange email with the professor and between themselves as individuals, groups, or with an entire class.
