The mission of the Student Technology Consultant (STC) program is to assist and educate the campus community in all aspects of academic technology. Students, faculty, and staff can benefit through technology workshops, software maintenance, and specialized software knowledge provided by our staff. STCs report to an Academic Technology Team Leader in the department of Instruction & Research Technology.
The STC program at WPUNJ offers computer labs, software, hardware, and a wide range of services, all provided by Student Technology Consultants. The program serves a student body of 10,000 and the STC staff has over 100 employees. STCs are undergraduate WPUNJ students working in the a division of Instruction and Research Technology. They are skilled to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff in software and internet applications available in all the WPUNJ computer labs.
The STC program and computer labs are funded by the technology fee paid with tuition. STCs can be identified by the maroon vests they wear and can be found in all open access computer labs. All STCs receive mandatory training, which covers both technology and consulting-specific material, before working in the labs.

Topics covered include Microsoft Office, SPSS, Digital Media, Customer Service, Blackboard, Email and much more. STC supervisors arrive a day early to participate in sessions dedicated to imbuing good management skills.
Each new student is provided a package of documents and equipment to help them learn the job. Please write with questions to Housen Maratouk.
