Blackboard NG Support Documents

IRT introduces Blackboard Next Generation (NG) this fall. Please go to the BbNG faculty support Web site to get information on the new Bb NG. We encourage you to take advantage of the information available to learn how to use the Blackboard NG.



The IRT encompasses three operational areas under the leadership of Dr. Sandie Miller, Director of IRT (x2659):
  • Academic Technology (Atrium 113) - serves faculty and students by providing instructional design, supporting the student labs, assisting with academic webspace, and administrating instructional software such as Blackboard and Listservs.
  • Broadcast, Production and Support (Hobart 230) - assists in the design, creation and operation of audio and video systems and facilities for the William Paterson University community.
  • Media Services (First floor, Cheng Library) - plans and implements the acquisition and dissemination of media technologies including both audiovisual materials and accompanying equipment to support the instructional programs and learning spaces of the William Paterson University community.

 

IRT's services are not charged internally in support of direct classroom instruction (except for materials). Services to other campus agencies and non-academic units are available on a reasonable charge basis.

Internal Services consist of Instructional design, Academic webpage help, managing Student Technology Consultants, managing Student computing labs, offering Technology workshops, providing Videoconferencing and satellite operations, Film and video operations, Audio operations, Cable TV operations, Media Collection services, and Media facilities.

External Services consist of STC externships, Facilities Rental and Support (Martini Teleconference Center, Conference and Seminar rooms, Computing Facilities, Auditoria, Smart Classrooms, Television Studios, and Editing Workstations), Videoconferencing and Interactive Television (ITV) services, Satellite and Cable uplinks, downlinks, and portability in these services, and IRT's customized audio and video production services.
