Objectives
The Bb institute provides a hands-on immersion workshop designed to help faculty prepare a Blackboard course site to be used to teach an Internet course or supplement a traditional course. Faculty can expect an exchange of information and ideas on Blackboard course design as well as use of the Internet for instructional purposes and incorporation of both electronic presentations as well as original and scanned images and digital photography into a course site, copyright and fair use policies, and long-term maintenance of electronic instructional materials.
Expectations
You can expect a hands-on Blackboard experience from student and instructor perspectives. Foundational training in using Blackboard and the Internet for effective, efficient and appealing instruction. Training and time to produce working materials to be used in an online class or for Web-enhanced instruction.
You are provided with a textbook, "Teaching Online: A Practical Guide" by Ko and Rossen and a disk. You leave with these to keep forever. We ask you to bring with you your curriculum materials including, but not limited to, lecture notes, presentations, course outlines, handouts and worksheets in any format. |
