New Jersey Unemployment, Disability, Workforce Development and Family Leave Insurance Taxes

All employees are required to contribute to the State of New Jersey Unemployment Compensation, Workforce Development, Temporary Disability and Family Leave Insurance Funds through payroll deductions. The current withholding rates are as follows:

  • NJ Temporary Disability - .38% of NJ taxable gross up to $31,500.00 for 2014. The maximum tax is $119.70.

  • NJ Family Leave Insurance - .1% of NJ taxable gross wages up to $31,500.00 for 2014. The maximum tax is $31.50.

  • Unemployment Compensation - .3825% percent of NJ taxable gross up to $31,500.00 for 2014. The maximum tax is $120.49.

  • NJ Workforce Development Partnership Fund - .0425% percent of NJ taxable gross up to $31,500.00 for 2014. The maximum tax is $13.39.

The total tax for the New Jersey State Unemployment, Temporary Disability, Family Leave Insurance, and Workforce Development Funds will be $285.08 for 2014.
