Rez Abbasi is a vivid synthesis of American jazz and classical and the influence of Indian master percussionist Ustad Alla Rakha (former accompanist of Ravi Shankar). Abbasi continues to push musical boundaries and sits at the forefront of jazz guitar. He appears as part of the Shastra Festival, which connects Indian and Western musical influences in a fascinating blend of styles.
