What is the Basic Skills Placement Test? |

The Basic Skills Placement Test is an instrument which determines a student's skill level in English and mathematics. |
Once you are admitted and have confirmed your acceptance, a letter will be sent informing you of your scheduled test date and time. The test is held on campus and must be taken prior to receiving an invitation to an Orientation/Registration Program. |

The test results are used to place students in courses appropriate to their skill level. |
No. A student's test results must be available prior to the registration program. A student must be tested and evaluated prior to registering for courses. |

The test is in two parts: the computerized Accuplacer Test includes sections on reading comprehension, sentence skills, algebra, and a written essay. |
Basic skills requirements must be completed within the first two semesters at the University. |

1. All full-time and part-time freshmen. |
A letter of course requirements is sent to you indicating the results of your test and the courses you are required to complete. You will be pre-registered for these courses by the University. |
