Office of Dean of Students

Student Center, 973.720.2742

We are committed to helping students grow and develop personally and professionally.  Whether it is a time in your life when you are exploring something new, ready to take on an exciting yet perhaps daunting challenge, or whether you are coping with an acute or chronic difficulty that may be getting in the way  of your education, there are professional staff in these offices that can help you.

Learning when to access available resources - either to enhance your efforts, or for help in overcoming obstacles to achieving your personal and professional goals - is an important part of development.  We hope that an essential dimension of the education you gain at William Paterson University is self-knowledge, that is a good enough understanding of yourself, the environment and people surrounding you, that when you need help with accessing the proper assistance to take the next step in your life, that you know when and how to do so.  Practicing that skill now, whether by arranging regular annual physicals, utilizing career development resources, or becoming involved with others with similar interests in a club or learning community, will best prepare you for life beyond college.

The Student Development offices and staff members listed here are all ready and able to help you in a number of ways that can be valuable to you.  It is up to you to access them in a timely way.  Please do so and take advantage of the full educational benefits and services William Paterson University offers you.
