Department of Public Health
About the Program
Students seeking certification in both health and physical education are afforded this opportunity through interdisciplinary studies. The physical education courses required for this certification are offered through the Department of Kinesiology (formerly Exercise and Movement Science). The 18 credit health requirement is met through courses offered in the Department of Public Health. This coursework prepares the student to address a variety of issues contained in the K-12 health curriculum. Students completing these requirements are eligible to take the PRAXIS (National Teaching Exam) and become certified to teach physical education and health grades K-12.
