Current Students

Iota Alpha chapter has formulated a strategic plan that proposes that sustainable development is necessary for excellence in nursing research, education and practice. We invite persons meeting the requirements for application to join our chapter. Sustainability requires human interaction, collaboration, and commitment.

You are invited to join Iota Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International to sustain our purposes:

  • Recognize superior achievement.
  • Recognize the development of leadership qualities.
  • Foster high professional standards.
  • Encourage creative work.
  • Strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession of nursing.

Those qualified to apply are:

  • Undergraduate Students: GPA 3.0 after completing 1/2 of the curriculum
  • Graduate Students with a 3.5 GPA after completing 9 units
  • RN's not currently enrolled in school are eligible as nurse leaders if they have completed at least a baccalaureate degree and are recommended by an active member of the Alpha Eta Chapter.

Toward this end we invite persons meeting the requirements for application to join our chapter. Sustainability requires human interaction, collaboration, and commitment.

Transferring or Dual Membership

For current (or inactive) Sigma Theta Tau members interested in establishing membership with Iota Alpha Chapter, go to the website of STTI and select "membership."

There are several options for current or inactive members. It is possible to change chapter affiliation when you renew your membership online. Detailed instructions are available in the FAQs.

Do you want to renew your lapsed (or current) membership to Iota Alpha Chapter? Lapsed members pay the same fee as current members. There is no additional reinstatement fee or charge for the years you were away.
