Graduate Program
 | The Masters of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) prepares students to function as advanced clinical practice nurses (clinical specialists in community health nursing and/or adult nurse practitioners), educators or administrators in community-based settings, including home health care. Through coursework and clinical practice, the individual develops expertise in advanced community health nursing care, leadership and research skills. The Graduate Program is accreditated by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education until 2015.

Admission to the Degree Program
The requirements for admission are as follows:
- Baccalaureate degree (BSN preferred) and License as Registered Nurse in New Jersey*
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0
- Acceptable score on the Graduate Record Exam or the Miller Analogies Test
- Work experience in community-based or related area of nursing
- Undergraduate prerequisite courses:
a. Statistics
b. Nursing Research
c. Physical Assessment
- Two professional letters of reference
- Essay including professional experience particularly as it relates to community-based nursing and future career plans.

*Registered Nurses with a non baccalureate nursing degree must schedule an appointment with the Director of the Graduate Nursing program.
Requirements for the Degree
Students must complete 36 credits of study for the education and 36 credits administration tracks and 40 credits for the advanced clinical practice track.
