The Women's Math Group was formed to encourage and support female students as they prepare for college and careers in the mathematical sciences. The group provides a forum for discussion of issues relating to the difficulties women encounter, and provides a greater understanding of the contributions of women in the mathematical sciences. The group organizes such activities as mathematical and career workshops, lectures with invited speakers, and special events including Sonia Kovalevsky Day.

As part of the mentoring program students also participate in a mentoring network and participation in Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) events.

Membership is open to all interested students and faculty. For further information contact
