Mathematics Awareness Month is a nationwide celebration to help focus national attention on the need for a solid grounding in mathematics which emphasizes problem solving skills. Each year this event concentrates on a particular theme.

At William Paterson University, the Department of Mathematics and the Math Club organize a month long program which consists of a series of talks given by students, faculty and guest speakers, to note the contributions mathematicians have made to our society, and to mark the significance of Mathematics in our daily life.

The program also includes a problem solving contest, social events, computer demonstrations, career information, informal interaction among students, alumni and mathematicians in science, business, industry, etc.
