FACILITIES

The department is located in Wightman Gymnasium, a recently renovated facility. The majority of our classes are taught in the two classrooms located in Wightman. In addition to the classrooms and faculty offices, the facility has one large gymnasium, a smaller gymnasium, a Human Performance Laboratory, a Motor Behavior Laboratory, an Athletic Training Clinical Education Laboratory, and an Olympic size swimming pool.

There are smaller spaces in the facility which permit the location of a student computer lab, a conference room, and a utility space for computers and xeroxing. Thus, Wightman Gymansium provides a self-contained space for the conduction of the program in the exercise and movement sciences.

In addition to Wightman Gymnasium, the department routinely uses outdoor space that includes tennis courts and several athletic fields.

There is also a large recreational facility, the Rec Center, on campus, where some of our classes meet. In addition to a large field house, the Rec Center contains a well-equipped weight training center and a state-of-the art cardiovascular room. There are also four racquetball courts in the building which are available for use by the campus community. With Nautilus equipment and free weights in the Rec Center, isokinetic machines in the Athletic Training room in Wightman, and universal equipment in the weight room in Wightman, the campus provides cutting-edge training for all types of programs.
