About Us:
The Speech and Hearing Clinic at William Paterson University (WPU) is a regional resource for a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for speech, language and hearing disorders including articulation difficulties, language deficits, speech and language disorders resulting from neurological impairments, voice problems, fluency disorders (stuttering), and foreign or regional accents.
The Clinic is open in conjunction with the University's semester calendar. Diagnostic evaluations are offered during the Fall, Spring and Summer-I terms.
Services:
All speech and language services and hearing screenings are provided by graduate students in the Department of Communication Disorders under the supervision of ASHA-certified and state licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
Audiological services include complete hearing evaluations (pure tone, speech, and tympanometry), central auditory testing, consultation and evaluation for assistive listening devices, and hearing aid evaluation. Support services are available to ensure successful hearing aid use. Services are available for preschoolers, school-age children, and adults.
Students and supervisors also perform speech, language and hearing screenings at programs not affiliated with the University, such as nursery schools, Head Start Programs, and health fairs.
Services at the WPU Speech and Hearing Clinic are reasonable. Information regarding fees is available upon request.
