Department of Sociology Adjunt Faculty
Jerry Carroll received his B.A. in education from Montclair State University. He continued his formal education at New York University, with extension courses at Cornell and Syracuse. He teaches such labor studies courses as Social Organization of Work and Contemporary Issues in the Workplace, and also Principles of Sociology. Following a four-year term as a secondary teacher, he joined the E.I. DuPont de Nemours company in Wilmington, Delaware. Several years later he worked for the American Gas Association, and then for over 20+ years in New York and Washington, DC, for the Society of the Plastics Industry, the international trade association for the plastics industry. Mr. Carroll's management expertise includes identification and resolution of concerns of industry and government in the environmental, industrial safety, and health and consumer related areas. He resides with his wife, Elaine, in Paramus. Among his many interests are primarily the enjoyment of his grandchildren, and his strong interest in football at all levels.
