Montclair Township Council
Passes Anti-Patriot Act Resolution!

On April 20, 2004, the Montclair Township Council unanimously passed a resolution calling for the repeal of the USA PATRIOT Act. (See the tentative text of the resolution. Read the Newark Star Ledger account. Read excerpts from the Montclair Times story.)

Who We Are

The Montclair Campaign to Defend Civil Liberties is a group of residents of Montclair, New Jersey, committed to the view that our communities can be both safe and free at the same time. We seek to promote public education and to press the Montclair Township Council to pass a resolution opposing the USA PATRIOT Act and related executive orders and legislation. [Accomplished!] Then we intend to work with others in New Jersey to get the State Legislature to pass a similar resolution.
