Political Science

The program in Political Science at William Paterson University seeks to provide students with an appreciation of and the ability to evaluate and participate in, the local, national, and international political systems which impact their lives. The public good is seen as essential to private well-being and security; students are therefore encouraged to participate as citizens and not as subjects in their communities, the nation, and the world. To enable students to contribute effectively and empathically in an increasingly diverse society and globally interdependent economy, we expose them to their own political system as well as to the politics and cultures of other areas of the world and to the international system.
