Study Abroad:

Currently, LAS offers two opportunities to study abroad. These programs offer courses that satisfy some of the course requirements for the major and minor. In addition, LAS sponsors a Study Abroad in Uruguay and Argentina in January during the Winter recess. Finally, the program supports The Mexican Art Summer Study Program in Mexico organized by Drs. Alejandro Anreus and He Zhang. This is a 13-day intensive on-site course to study ancient architecture, sculpture of the Olmec, Maya, Aztec, and a few other native cultures, the church buildings and paintings of the Colonial period, and famous mural paintings of 20th century Mexico. Two art historians in Art department specializing in ancient and modern Mexican art, will lead the trip. The class will travel from Mexico City to Puebla, Tobasco, Chiapas, Campeche, and Yucatan.
