French and Francophone
Studies is an interdisciplinary program at William Paterson University
focusing on the diversity of the French-speaking world.
The major is
particularly recommended for students interested in teaching or
in pursuing careers in international fields such as communications,
economics and finance, government, politics, law, or translation.
Mission
Reflecting the mission of its parent department, the mission of the FFSP is to develop in its students, oral and written proficiency in French, cultural awareness of the multifaceted Francophone world, and to provide academic training for careers involving the French language, and French and Francophone literatures and cultures.
