Principal duties: drawing up list of entries, scope descriptions, assigning contributors, and approving final texts for Spanish and Portuguese history and literature during the Renaissance, plus entries for the non-European world as appropriate. Grants evaluator for the ACLS (1998)
CURRENT RESEARCH An article on Spanish religious life in the seventeenth century, for the Cambridge Companion Volume to Velázquez. An article on a Spanish millennial leader known as El Encubierto (1522) and the contemporary reporting on his revolt.
