Paterson Research Institute
On May 13, 2011, faculty members went on a walking tour of the Paterson Historic District to acquaint themselves with part of the city as an orientation prelude to an official launch of the Paterson Research Institute in the 2011-2012 academic year.
Did you know that William Graham Sumner, one of America's first sociologists, was born in Paterson? So were many other famous personalities in the arts, entertainment, sports, and science. Educator Nicholas Murray Butler won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 and physicist Frederick Reines won the Nobel Prize in 1995. You will learn more about these people and many others by going to Famous Patersonians.
