CSCL arranged the visiting of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, #1 publisher in China to the university, and organized the book donation event from FLTRP to the David and Lorraine Cheng Library. Donated books are in subjects of Chinese as a second language textbooks, Chinese culture, geography, literature and history, etc.

The 9th New York International Conference on Teaching Chinese was held in Rutgers University. Dr. Lan Jiang presented her paper entitled Focusing on Local Chinese Teacher Preparation and the Needs of Qualified Chinese Teachers in the Tri-State Area.
