Thomas Owusu received his B.A. from the University of Ghana, his M.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, and his Ph.D. in Geography from University of Toronto, Canada. He joined the Department of Geography at William Paterson University in September 1999, and has served as Chair of the Department since June 2005. His research interests focus on comparative urban development and policy, dynamics of urban economic and demographic change, immigrants and North American cities, immigrants and urban labor and housing markets, and urban growth and housing in Africa. He has published in leading scholarly journals including Housing Studies, International Migration Review, Journal of International Migration and Integration, the Canadian Geographer, and National Social Science Journal. He has presented numerous papers at regional, national, and international conferences. He teaches the following undergraduate courses: World Regional Geography, Economic Geography, Geography of United States and Canada, Geography of North American Cities, Geography of New Jersey, Geography of the Middle East, and Senior Seminar.
