Cortney Lamar Charleston

Cortney Lamar Charleston is a poet and author of Telepathologies, which was selected by D.A. Powell for the 2016 Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize. Here he reads selections from his debut collection, which has been described as looking "unflinchingly at the state of race in 21st century America" by engaging the groundswell of political activism around systemic racism & the violence associated with it, notably invoking the memories of Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, The Charleston Nine, & more.

K'Wan Foye

For years, K'wan Foye composed novels that he tried to get published, only to have door after door slammed in his face. Finally, in 2002, Mr. Foye hit the scene with his debut novel Gangsta, under Triple Crown Publications. It was the first novel released by the budding house and would eventually become the building block for what is now a multimillion dollar company. Since then, Mr. Foye has released numerous novels with an avid fanbase. He spoke at WPU to discuss his writing process.
