Prof. Vilhauer received his Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Chicago, and his A.B. in 1996 from Harvard. He teaches courses in introductory philosophy, ethics, modern philosophy, political philosophy, and comparative philosophy. He's written extensively on Kant and on various ethical theories. His research is currently focused on free will theory in modern and contemporary philosophy.
Prof. Vilhauer is currently the advisor for the Philosophy Department and director of the Philosophy Club.
