The Philosophical Animat Research Group (PhARG) is part of the Cognitive Science Laboratory of the Philosophy Department at William Paterson University.

PhARG micro FAQ:

Q: What's an animat?

A: An animat is an artificial animal, either computer simulated or robotic.

Q: What's a philosophical animat?

A: We haven't the slightest clue. But that's OK, because it is the research that's philosophical, not the animats. So far our animats just eat and fight and haven't done much philosophy on their own, yet. Learn more about it by exploring the links to the left.

Laboratory Location:

Room 243 of the Science Building, near the Psych Dept. offices.
