**All candidates must apply for all required Certificates of Eligibility (CE) through the NJDOE.  Candidates will not be permitted to continue in the program if they are not successfully issued all required CE's***

 

Spring Semester:  January -May:

· Courses will run in the evening.  They will be offered as online courses when available or on the WPU/KEAN campus.  (SPED Program:  6 credits, ESL/Bilingual program: 6 credits)

· All candidates will be required to complete 95 hours of online/hybrid professional development modules:  Topics-Literacy & Knowing your learners

· Candidates will need to do field visitations

Summer Session:  May - August:

· Courses will run in the evening.  They will be offered as online courses when available or on the WPU/KEAN campus.  (SPED program, 9 credits; ESL program, 9 credits, Bilingual program, 6 credits)

· Candidates will need to do field visitations

· All candidates will be required to complete 95 hours of online/hybrid professional development modules:  topics-Content Methods & Differentiated instruction 

ALL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MODULE: INTRODUCTION TO TEACHING AND PLANNING ONE WEEK IN AUGUST

Only candidates in possession of a Certificate of Eligibility for all required teaching areas will be permitted to begin/accept the teaching assignment and become Teacher of Record.

Additionally, all candidates must adhere to all District rules and regulations as well as remain in good standing as an employee.  All candidates will be placed in approved partnering high-need urban school districts at the discretion of the district according to the vacancies that are available at that time.

 

Fall Session:  September - December:

· TEACHER OF RECORD/EMPLOYMENT BEGINS IN SCHOOL DISTRICT

· SPED program (WPU): 3 credits, (Kean): 6 credits

· ESL program (WPU): 3 credits, (Kean): 6 credits

· Bilingual program (WPU): 3 credits, (Kean): 6 credits

**All candidates will be required to complete 50 hours of online/hybrid professional development modules:  Topics-Methods & Culturally Responsive Teaching**

 

 Spring Session:  January - May:

· TEACHER OF RECORD/EMPLOYMENT BEGINS IN SCHOOL DISTRICT

· SPED program:  3 credits

· ESL program (WPU): 3 credits, (Kean): 4 credits

· Bilingual program: 3 credits

· All candidates will be required to complete 25 hours of online/hybrid professional development modules:  Topics-Creating a community of learners

***All candidates who successfully complete their teaching placements will receive Standard Teaching Licenses for all teaching certificates for which they are employed under.  Candidates receiving the ESL/Bilingual endorsement will need to complete the Oral Proficiency Test (OPI) and any other requirement for licensure as per the NJ Licensure Code at the time of program completion
