Mission of the Center:

• Building a Lesson Study network
  • The Center for Lesson Study is committed to develop a quality Lesson Study network in the NJ, NY, CT, and PA area.
  • By strengthening the Lesson Study network, the Center for Lesson Study seeks to promote and develop professional learning communities in the area.

• Promoting and Educating about Lesson Study
  • The Center for Lesson Study organizes Annual Lesson Study Conferences to promote and educate about ideas relevant to Lesson Study and Lesson Study Communities.
  • Through conferences, the Center for Lesson Study provides opportunities for the lesson study practitioners to experience observation and discussion of research lessons.
  • The Center for Lesson Study organizes Lesson Study summer institutes and workshops.
  • The Center for Lesson Study also provides workshops on elementary and middle school mathematics content to help improve the Lesson Study experience.

• Developing Strong Relationships with Local Schools through Lesson Study
  • The Center for Lesson Study provides consulting and workshops related to Lesson Study.

• Providing Helpful Resources for Lesson Study
  • The Center for Lesson Study maintains Lesson Study website to support teachers’ learning of Lesson Study
  • The Center for Lesson Study also houses a Lesson Study library.
