Matriculation Requirements

Only students, who have passed the College of Education mandatory entry requirements: speech, language and hearing screening, Praxis Core for Educators (5751), have 60 credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, may take education courses.  

Post Baccalaureate and M.A.T. students need to confer with their program director (or Graduate Admissions) regarding further matriculation/acceptance requirements.

If you wish to take all three computer-delivered Core Academic Skills for Educators exams (5712, 5722, 5732) at the same time, select Core Academic Skills for Educators Combined Test (5751) when registering. Scores will be reported by individual test (5712, 5722, 5732).  

Currently, you may be eligible to have the CORE requirement waived if you have met the below cut scores*:

SAT before 4-1-1995:  Verbal 480 Math 520

SAT after 4-1-1995:  Verbal 560 Math 540

SAT after 3/1/2016:  610 Evidense-Based Reading and Writing or 30 Reading Section / Math 570


ACT before 8-28-1989:  English 20 Math 23

ACT after 8-28-1989:  English 23 Math 23

GRE before 8-1-2011:  Verbal 530 Quantitative 720

GRE after 8-1-2011:  Verbal 155 Quantitative 156
