Schedule of Events - Spring 2004 Calendar

PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:

The Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business undergraduate programs are guided by a framework that includes the professional enhancement, readiness, and awareness of our student body.  As such, the Professional Enrichment Program provides opportunities for our students to meet and network with area specialists, hear business leaders speak, become involved in work related activities such as internships, practicum, and job shadowing, and attend various seminars and forums that deal with professional development and/or contemporary work related issues.

Requirements:
All CCOB students are required to complete the professional enrichment component of their educational experience prior to graduation; students must earn professional enrichment points as they progress through their business program towards graduation.

Accumulated points are utilized in partial fulfillment of the course requirements for MGT460 (Business Strategy and Policy), which is a required course for all undergraduate business administration and accounting majors. Specifically, 10 percent of the grade earned in this course is a function of the number of enrichment points earned: four points are required to earn full credit. Less than four points results in partial credit being granted. Students should actively begin accumulating points upon acceptance into their undergraduate CCOB program. Several additional courses have a “per semester” point requirement; please check with your CCOB faculty member.

Earning Enrichment Points:
Students earn enrichment points through their involvement in supporting activities. Numerous events are sponsored by the CCOB, or co-sponsored with our partners (please see back page). Material participation in a CCOB-sponsored club and attendance at a professional association meeting/conference/seminar also qualify. Please send an e-mail to: pe@wpunj.edu for information regarding documentation/substantiation requirements to receive points for these activities. All enrichment activities earn one-half of one full enrichment point unless noted otherwise.

Students must bring their University identification card (ID) to any enrichment activity they attend. The ID card will be scanned during the first ten minutes of an activity, and enrichment points entered into a database, for the purpose of monitoring the number of points earned. Failure to bring the ID card or coming more than 10 minutes late to a workshop will result in no enrichment point credit for the activity. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

We are firmly committed to the professional enrichment of our students and look forward to your participation at these sessions. Attendance is free, and complimentary snacks will be served at many events.
