Have an Existing Business?

The William Paterson SBDC has a variety of services designed to help you-the business owner meet the demands of owning and operating a successful business. Our staff of professional counselors provides one-on-one counseling to existing businesses interested in achieving growth and profitability. Counseling is offered at no cost to you and can provide guidance in various areas on such issues as employee relations, marketing, contracting, patents, financial management, and goal setting. Our counselors will assist you with identifying sources of funding for business expansion and help you complete documentation for various state and federal certifications. We also offer a variety of workshops and training programs designed to provide you with additional expertise and the confidence to succeed.

Regardless of the industry you're in, we are ready to provide specialized assistance to help give your business a competitive edge. We can assist you with cost analysis, resource management and provide a no-cost analysis of your existing business. After your "check-up" our specialist will offer timely advice on how to grow your business. Through the Procurement Technical Assistance Program, small businesses can get assistance in identifying and bidding on government prime and sub contracts. Additionally, if your business has a technology focus, the SBDC offers a number of vehicles designed to assist your business enterprise. Ask about the SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grant. SBIR is a competitive three-phase award system which provides qualified small business concerns with opportunities to propose innovative ideas that meet the specific research and development needs of the Federal Government.
