The Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business, named in honor of Christos M. Cotsakos, Ph.D., former chairman and CEO, E*TRADE Group, Inc., is undergoing rapid growth and change: these characteristics parallel similar types of growth that are present in emerging global markets, the changes that technology has imbued on organizations, and the manner in which they conduct business.
Our College has recently received accreditation from AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business: this is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting. There currently exist approximately 500 business schools worldwide that hold this accreditation. In support of accreditation maintenance, the College of Business has designed goals and objectives that involve developing improved and increasingly contemporary curriculum, implementing practical outcomes assessment procedures, securing new faculty, increasing scholarship to support our strong teaching, incorporating technology into the curriculum, and invigorating the interaction between the College and its business constituencies. These goals and objectives are designed to provide students with a more rigorous and meaningful academic program so that they may secure and retain competitive professional positions and provide value-adding contributions to the community and employers. The College of Business is also very excited by its recent move to a new academic building at 1600 Valley Road, as well as utilizing the E*TRADE Financial Learning Center. Christos M. Cotsakos, Ph.D., who served as E*TRADE Financial chairman and CEO from 1996 to 2003, has been a significant supporter of the University. The new Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business will assist to increase the quality of the educational process and benefit the well being of local businesses, the community, and other University stakeholders.
