University Students for Financial Literacy

Using talent, experience, and the knowledge of college students, the University Students for Financial Literacy program gives high school students an opportunity to learn about basic investment topics at the collegiate level.

The initiative, which falls under our Community for Financial Program, has been expanded from four to six weeks and covers personal finance topics such as time value of money, risk, mutual funds, diversification strategies, and fundamental and technical analysis.

William Paterson staff and student members of the University Students for Financial Literacy team up to deliver the challenging curriculum. At the conclusion of the event, participants deliver a financial presentation and record them to DVD using RBI's state-of-the-art facility.

The DVD's are provided to students to critique their delivery and knowledge of the material. In addition, students are exposed to disciplines required at the collegiate level such as the ability to work in teams, communicate clearly, and delegate responsibility. Awards are given out to the top participants.
