Technology and Society is part of our Community Outreach Initiative at William Paterson University.
The department seeks to elevate the awareness and educate the community with matters related to personal finance ranging from financial planning to retirement and the stock market.
Programs are geared to a wide audience including middle school and high school students, college students, educators, working professionals and retired persons.
- CFLP - Community Financial Literacy
Program (CFLP) initiatives include the Summer Camp of Money & Investing,
Gear Up, Paterson Youth Investors Club, University Students for Financial
Literacy and others
- Financial Aid Seminar - Having
trouble paying for college?
- GEAR UP - This course provides students
with some basic concepts related to both personal finance matters
and investment methodologies.
- Paterson Youth Investors Club
- "It is never too early to learn about how to balance your
checkbook. Therefore, I am heartily encouraged by an initiative aptly
entitled "The Paterson Youth Investors Club" that was recently launched
in Silk City."

- Step Into Wall St. - The Step
Into Wall St. program seeks to address matters related to financial
literacy for high school students.
- Summer Money & Investing
Camp - Five days intensive training camp in money and investing
for high school students, teaching them how to increase their personal
wealth. Includes hands-on simulated trading.
