Summer Money & Investing Camp

This five-day intensive training camp in money and investing for high school students-run by William Paterson's Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business faculty and financial professionals-teaches teens how to increase their personal wealth.

By learning to use cutting-edge software packages, as well as data from Wall Street financial service providers, they quickly engage in hands-on trading using the Financial Learning Center's (FLC) state-of-the-art trading floor. Students soon discover if their own money-making plans work or not.

As a part of the community outreach program, the camp seeks to address a financial illiteracy issue, particularly among teens. During this one-week program, students study money and investing, develop their own personal financial plans, learn about college admissions, financial aid and scholarships, attend guest speaker presentations, and get a taste of college life on campus. Campers also learn about the stock market, valuing companies, and participated in simulated trading.

In addition, students particiapted in a number of team competitions throughout the week including a trading challenge, team building games, and Financial Jeopardy.
