BRIEF
BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:
Dr.
Basu’s professional background combines academic, business and consulting
experiences. He comes to
the Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business from California State
University, Eastbay (formerly Hayward), where he has been Interim
Dean, Associate Dean, Co-Director of the Smith Center for Private
Enterprise Studies and Professor of Finance.
His prior academic relationships include University of Southern
California where he served as Assistant Professor. He has also taught at The Graduate School of Business at UC Berkeley as an adjunct faculty.
Dr.
Basu is the author of approximately thirty papers in academic and
professional journals and co-author of the book “Strategic Credit
Management,” published by John Wiley & Sons.
Originally trained as an engineer, Dr. Basu worked for the Indian
Subsidiary of Alcan Aluminum. He
was also an A.V.P. in Corporate Finance and V.P. & Manager of
Strategic Planning for Wells Fargo Bank in San Fransisco.
He was also a Senior V.P. for Corporate Planning & Development
for Merabank in Phoenix.
He has worked with Booz Allen and Hamilton in San Fransisco and has
been an independent consultant in finance and strategy in California
over the years. Dr. Basu has
been a member of Boards of Directors/Advisors for both corporate and
non-profit organizations.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:
Dr. Chen currently
serves as the Director of the E*Trade Financial Learning Center and
simultaneously holds the rank of Full Professor of Finance.
He has previously served as Professor of Finance in the Williamson
College of Business (AACSB accredited) at Youngstown State University,
where he also served as the Assistant to the Dean for Graduate Programs.
His primary research interests are in Finance and Global Business.
he has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Financial
management and Financial Practice and Education. He has
been the recipient of the University Distinguished Professor award
in 1993-1994.
