Designed for the beginning student with little or no
previous musical training. Through involvement
with various tasks and activities, along with guidance
from the instructor, students master the basic skills of
music reading, sight-singing, and keyboard facility
and gain a knowledge of related theoretical concepts.
For students who are not going on with formal music
training, this course provides a valuable background
for the amateur musician and/or theatre, communication, and education
major. (Co-numbered MUS 244
for nonmusic majors.)
