Undergraduate Classical Degrees
First: Check out our audition requirements.
Second: Apply to William Paterson University HERE.
Third: Receive email with instructions for Music Department Application.
Upon submission of the University Application, you will receive an email with your Student ID (a 9-digit code that begins with 855) and instructions for submitting Music Department application materials online.
Fourth: Log into Decision Desk to complete the Music Application.
Here you will complete your music department application and upload your recorded audition and other materials:
- An essay, approximately 300 words, describing your personal, artistic, and career goals (Word or PDF only).
- A list of major solo material and repertoire studied during the past three years (Word or PDF only).
- Names and email addresses of two references who can speak to your character and abilities. One reference must be a music educator or studio teacher. They will then be contacted by the Music Department.
Fifth: Come to campus for a live audition and placement tests.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Please go to the website for the Office of International Students and Scholars for additional requirements. Please send all completed documentation to the Office of International Students and Scholars.

For all classical degree programs the deadlines for submission of music department applications are:
April 1 for fall matriculation
November 1 for spring matriculation
Auditions for all Bachelor of Music programs are now closed for Fall 2013.
Auditions for the Bachelor of Arts in Music will remain open until June 1.
