Public Relations

Public relations knowledge applies to virtually all industries and interest areas. Students majoring in business, English, public health, political science, arts, communication and any major would benefit from the 18-credit public relations minor. Careers in public relations-related fields continue to grow faster than the national average ( and are listed as a top-8 growth industry by Fortune magazine. A minor in public relations enhances a student’s knowledge and skills in effective communication messaging, strategic and critical problem-solving, program planning, creative idea development, issues management, audience targeting and persuasive writing.
