J.D. Rutgers University (Law)

M.F.A., New York University (Film & Television)

B.S. Montclair State University (Marketing & Management)

My first feature film, "Asbury Park," won the Gordon Parks Award. It premiered at Lincoln Center. My second feature, “Bellclair Times," won the Newark Black Film Festival. I went to graduate film school at NYU and was mentored by Spike Lee & Julie Taymor (Tony winner for directing Broadway’s “The Lion King”). My short films have screened at international film festivals. And I serve as a Pro-Bono Attorney for a domestic violence organization.

My 20-years’ experience teaching young filmmakers and storytellers saw me on the faculty at the Country’s top Film Schools-- NYU, Boston University, Columbia College Chicago and the New York Film Academy. And while William Paterson is a small program, my students have been accepted to the most prestigious Graduate Film Programs in the Country (USC, Chapman, Emerson, BU), have produced Sundance winning films, and own commercial production companies.

Because my teaching style empowers students to develop a voice and vision. I do this by knowing story, drama, technology, history, and how to listen to what a student is “trying” to say. My job is to hear them, ask the right questions, and push them to find their answers--  in Their Voice. And then get the hell outta the way!
