Professor Uhlein earned his undergraduate degree in art from Penn State University in 1996. After working for a number of years in the design and publication industry, Professor Uhlein went on to earn his M.F.A. in Graphic and Interactive Design from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2002. He is currently an associate professor of art, and is the M.F.A. co-director at William Paterson University, where he has been teaching since 2003.
Professor Uhlein's design work has received national awards of excellence for page layout, posters design, and logo development. His work has also been a part of juried exhibitions and publications including: Print Magazine's Regional Design Annual, the University & College Designers National Exhibitions, International Academy of the Visual Arts Communication Awards, the New Jersey Art Directors Association Awards, and the books: LogoLounge 3, and LogoLounge Master Series.
Professor Uhlein’s philosophy on design and visual communication takes root in two basic fundamentals; have fun and explore all possibilities.
