The Department of Communication has a complement of 22 full-time faculty encompassing a wide range of academic and professional experience and doctorates from a number of prestigious universities. Faculty members have achieved international, national, and regional recognition in the fields of broadcasting, filmmaking, performance and exhibition, publish in scholarly journals, and present their work at international, national, and regional conferences. Faculty maintain memberships within the professional and academic organizations of their field, including the International Radio and Television Society, University Film and Video Association, International Communication Association, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, National Communication Association, Eastern Communication Association, Association for Educators of Journalism and Mass Communications, American Journalism Education Association, Association for Theatre in Higher Education, American Society of Theatre Research, and World Communication Association.
