William Paterson University’s alumni network is an invaluable resource for current students seeking guidance and career options. For alumni, collaboration with current students can add a lot to the strength of your own organization. Partnering civic minded alumni with students who share similar passions enhances the educational experience for our graduates. Here are some ideas for how to develop these kinds of partnerships: Mentor a William Paterson student. The Pesce Family Mentoring Institute was created to help prepare students for careers or graduate education by connecting successful professionals, including alumni and local community business partners, with select William Paterson University undergraduate students. Host a student volunteer group. Many student organizations as well as professors teaching courses with service learning requirements are looking for opportunities for service in our neighboring communities. The service experience for our students is even more valuable when they are hosted by WP alumni. As WP alumni, you can choose to host student interns at your organization or business, list employment opportunities, or participate in a WP employment and internship fair. If you are interested in volunteering or hosting volunteers or interns, please contact the Alumni Relations team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 973-720-2175.
